Next Tudor Pony, by popular vote: Princess Luna! :D

Because Celestia was based off Elizabeth I, I based Luna's dress on the gowns worn by Queen Mary I. Ironically, Mary was actually older than Elizabeth, but oh well. And please, don't ask me what the hell is going on with that double collar/open shirt/veil/crown combo.....thing.

Tudor ladies also had some crazy sleeves. Those things were huge already, but half the time they were made of fur. And they lugged those things in the middle of Summer.

Fun facts: The pearl underneath Luna's moon medalion is in fact 100% real. The pearl was worn on a necklace worn by Mary I (seen in the link below). Called "La Peregrina", it was once the largest pearl in the world, and was in recent years owned by Elizabeth Taylor. It was so big, it once fell out of it's holder and was lost until Taylor found her dog chewing on it. Also, "Always the Same" was a phrase used by Elizabeth the first and is actually written on her coat of arms in Latin.

Okay, enough history! I'm thinking next will either be Cadance or Artemis. We'll see. :)

I love her expression!

Looks modest, and yet nostalgic. I could imagine this being a more recent painting of Luna after she found on of her old dresses. Being painted while remembering the good times gone.
