Archeologists recently uncovered this portrait in the catacombs underneath Old Canterlot.
Celestia could not be reached for statement, however when approached Princess Luna simply trotted away, yelling "Tia, we told thee you coulds't not burn them all! Ypu owe us ten bits!".

No, it's not Molestia. It's a young Celestia, silly people.
So, I've had this idea of a Tudor Celestiain my head for awhile. I imagine Celestia would always keep up with the times. However there was a time when giant dresses, long sleeves, and jewels the size of eggs were fashionable. I'm sure there are some old powdered wigs and corsets hidden away in an attic in Canterlot Castle somewhere.
The dress was based on a gown worn by Elizabeth the 1st. I think Celestia would have been very similar to her, so I used one in a portrait from around 1546. Originally, there was to be more lace around the tiara, and floral designs on the red areas, but I thought the dress looked better without. Still iffy about the black veil too, but eh.
Fun Fact: "Gloriana" was actually one of Elizabeth's nicknames, along with the more popular "Virgin Queen" and "Good Queen Bess".
I want you to know that I appreciate all of these. They are amazing. The subject matter, too, is genius. I don't know why more people don't play around with the clothing styles of the ponies. These outfits you've design fit each pony perfectly, and best of all they aren't bastard children of bad anime and warhammer 40k styles like we are used to seeing.
