"Oh Shining Armor~! Won't you please help me with this corset? "

As the thid Tudor Pony I've drawn, this is now officially a series! :la: I present to you, Tudor Cadance!

Since the portrait I used for Celestia's dress was of Queen Elizabeth at age 13, I didn't get to fully paint the over the top, outrageous fashions she was known for when she was a full on queen. However, I stumbled upon a pic of the good queen in a dress that resembled the wedding dress in the playset Cadance first came out in, and decided to use it. You simply can't have a series of Tudor portraits without starched collars and those strange pendants that hang from the skirts.

I kind of cheated a bit with Cadance's hair, and refferenced a screenshot from Elizabeth: the Golden Age to help with the shades. The movie was horribly innacurate, but at least they got the fashions and Elizabeth's wigs right (as far as I can tell).

Fun Fact: The title of this picture, "Her Own Content" is actually an excerpt from a message written beneath "An Allegory of the Tudor Succession", a painting Queen Elizabeth I gave to Sir Francis Walsingham as a gift. The full passage reads "The Queen to Walsingham this tablet sent; Mark of her people's and her own content." The painting can be seen here: [link]

Up next: Lord Solaris as Henry VIII!

Enjoy! :D

This is... wow.
Is it bad that I think Candence looks kind of cute with her mane like that.
The outfit suits her surprisingly well too.
Very nice work.

Wow....I don't understand all the comments about her hair, I think it looks brilliant! Just like a cute (purple) mini queen Bess! Her dress and jewelry are amazing, these Tudor ponies of yours really are fabulous :D.
Imagine what kind of comments you'd get if you'd decided to draw Georgian ponies! xD
I hope you keep going with this series!

Thank you! :D I'll have to look into Georgian, but I've got a few ideas for a portrait of Pinkie as Marie Antionett. :la:

Can you imagine her mane? It would look amazing xD
Here's to more historical ponies! (which is in itself a brilliant idea :L)
