I'm so ashamed of the Disney fandom right now.
"I cried when I found out it wasn't in 2D"
"Just like Tangled, it'd look SOOOOO good in 2D"
"I won't support a company that won't support me! BOYCOTT!"
I'm of course talking about Frozen, which just recently released several gorgeous concept arts and even a short clip (which was equally gorgeous, making use of contrasting colors and beautiful animation). Of course, as with every fandom, there are those overly attached children who can't embrace change crying about it. *coughtwilacorncough*
Have you already forgotten Brave? Ralph? Tangled, which you all seem so determined to compare to a film that hasn't even released a real trailer yet? Guys, Brave had some of the most beautiful landscapes and CGI I've ever seen. Ralph showed off the creativity Disney still has. And for the love of God, everyone freaked out about Tangled too before it was released, and everyone loves it now! And this was a mere, what, three years ago? And can you honestly say Tangled would be as good in 2D? If Rapunzel's beautiful, golden hair were just a bunch of lines? Or the lanterns were just glowy squares? I mean, I'm not saying Tangled would look bad in 2D, just that it wouldn't be the same to me.
I guess I'm just more open because I can see the benefits of both CGI and 2D animation, but really people. They say don't just a book by it's cover, but Frozen doesn't even have
a cover yet. Instead, we have these: regno-disney.tumblr.com/post/4… kawaiixxneko.tumblr.com/post/4…
and they're pretty impressive, and have me excited for the film.
EDIT: Guys, I'm talking about CGI
when I say 3D, not 3D as in explosions in your face.
